The next (11th) edition of the “A Little Warmth for the Homeless” campaign – an initiative of Caritas Polska starts on November 25th and will last until February 28th, 2026. This year’s co-organizer and official partner of the campaign is Animex Foods.
Campaign history
The “A Little Warmth for the Homeless” campaign is a regular feature of Caritas Polska’s social activities calendar in Warsaw. For over a decade, patrols of the Warsaw Municipal Police, equipped with food, blankets, clothes, and hot soup, have been visiting uninhabited places twice a week: vacant buildings, allotments, areas around train stations and railway tracks, where people experiencing homelessness stay. In the previous edition, 5,000 cans of food, 3,200 liters of soup, several hundred loaves of bread, 150 blankets, 700 pairs of woolen socks, and other essential items were distributed. This year’s edition aims not only to repeat, but also to expand the scope of activities, thanks to a new partnership and the involvement of the company Animex Foods.
Role of Animex Foods
For Animex Foods, joining the Caritas campaign is a natural extension of the values it pursues daily. As a producer of high-quality food and a partner of local communities, the company shares what it does best with those in need, namely safe and nutritious food. As part of its support for the campaign, the company will supply meat and meat products, which will become a key ingredient in a hot meal – a soup full of nutrients and essential calories. This gives the meal a dimension that goes beyond temporary relief to become a real concern for the health and vitality of people living on the brink of exclusion.
“For our company, participating in the Caritas campaign is both part of our long-standing social responsibility policy and, above all, a natural response to the needs of others. We share what we do best: providing safe, high-quality food, which in this case can gives not only strength but also hope.” – said Łukasz Dominiak, Director of Public & Government Relations at Animex Foods.
The director of Caritas Poland, Father Janusz Majda, added: “The uniqueness of the ‘A Little Warmth for the Homeless’ campaign lies in the synergy of competencies: The Warsaw Municipal Police has the official authority and means of transport to quickly reach hard-to-reach places, the “Jesteśmy Nadzieją” clinic provides pre-medical assistance as part of the Street Medical Patrol, and Caritas provides a network of aid centers and the necessary resources. This year’s partners in the campaign also include Animex Foods that will supply meat and meat products, which will be used to make hot soup full of nutrients and essential calories, and the Caritas Foundation, which will prepare soup every day and provide it to Municipal Police patrols going out to people living on the margins of society.
This partnership transforms cleaning efforts into a rescue operation with a profound social dimension, in line with guidelines on winter assistance for people experiencing homelessness”.
A partnership with a history
This is not the first time that Animex Foods has been part of Caritas activities. The company provided food aid during the COVID-19 pandemic, the floods in Lower Silesia and the Opole region in 2024, and in many other situations, responding to urgent social needs. Each of these actions was a quick, concrete response to the real challenges faced by those most in need.
Long-term vision of aid
The partnership with Caritas Polska does not end with this year’s campaign. Animex Foods treats this project as the beginning of a strategic, long-term cooperation. Further joint ventures are already planned, both in the area of emergency aid and long-term activities for marginalized communities. The combination of Caritas’ experience in social assistance with Animex Foods’ logistical and food resources creates the potential for initiatives of real, systemic significance.
