We are delighted to announce the launch of the Berlinki Mini Handball League – a unique sports project created in collaboration with the Aqua-Instal Jeziorak Iława Handball Club.
The first league tournament kicks off on March 31. at 9:00 a.m. at the Municipal Sports and Entertainment Hall in Iława, with elementary school students from the region participating.
The Berlinki Mini Handball League is a series of handball competitions for the youngest players, created to inspire children to be physically active, develop their interest in sports, and foster values such as cooperation, commitment, healthy competition, and fair play.
The competition is structured as a league—featuring a group stage, semifinal matches, and a grand final on May 23., 2026. This format ensures that each team plays multiple matches and gains valuable experience.
The project is part of our efforts to support local communities. We are involved in initiatives aimed at children and youth in the areas where we operate.
As part of the Berlinki Mini Handball League, we have allocated financial prizes totaling over 50, 000 PLN for schools in the region and provided funds for, among other things, sports equipment, transportation for students from outside Iława, and commemorative medals.
We believe that sports help build character and positive habits that stay with young athletes for years to come.
Our support extends to schools in the regions where Animex Foods operates—in line with the principle of responsible social partnership. Primary schools from Iława, Nowe Miasto Lubawskie, Ostróda, and Kurzętnik are participating in the first edition of the league.
It is a tremendous honor for the project that Sławomir Szmal—a legend of Polish handball, a longtime national team player, and President of the Polish Handball Association—has agreed to serve as the tournament’s patron. His support underscores the importance of local initiatives in shaping the future of the sport.
“The Berlinki Mini Handball League fits into our strategy of supporting sports activities for children and youth. We are delighted that we can have a real impact on the development of the youngest residents in the regions where we operate,” emphasizes Łukasz Dominiak, Director of Public Relations at Animex Foods.
Come cheer on the teams!
