On June 12th<\/sup>, a ceremonial Polish Business Gala of the weekly Wprost took place, during which the leaders of the economy were awarded. On the stage, statuettes were awarded to the winners of the prestigious rankings of the Polish Two Hundred, so the 200 largest companies, as well as Cheetahs and Business Ambassadors. Among the awarded entities was Smithfield Polska group, which received a special award for outstanding achievements in implementation of the ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) standards.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Smithfield Polska group as the leading producer of meat and processed meat, has been actively engaged in the ESG-related activities for years. The company is a leader of innovative solutions which are the foundation of its sustainable development strategy, based on the three key pillars, Business, Environment and People. Thanks to this approach, the company consistently fulfils the UN Sustainable Development Goals, proving that responsible business practices can bring benefits, both to the natural environment and to local communities.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would like to thank the jury of the competition and the editors of the weekly Wprost for this great distinction. Implementation of the sustainable development standards in the agri-food sector on one hand constitutes a challenge for participants of the market, but on the other hand, is a perfect opportunity for introducing beneficial changes in the food chain. The operating model \u201cfrom farm to fork\u201d, which is our domain, allows us for full control over individual stages of production, starting from quality of feed and animal welfare to safety and quality of the final product.\u201d <\/em>\u2013 said \u0141ukasz Dominiak, Public & Government Relations Director at Smithfield Polska.<\/p>\n

The special award of the weekly Wprost, granted for implementation of the ESG procedures, is a proof that Smithfield Polska can perfectly combine the implementation of business goals, responsible management and conduct. The award confirms how important it is for the company to create value for society and future generations.<\/p>\n
